This may come as a real shock, I know I couldn't believe it myself. On another note, how would you type the sound of a cliche French laugh? Hu Hu Hu, is my best guess anyone else got a guess?

I just read this same article. Thank you Frenchies for making us look less rude than you.
I do find that most Italians speak little to no English. I try to avoid all tourists while here, especially Americans.
